” This is why we need to travel. If we don’t offer ourselves to the unknown, our senses dull. Our world becomes small and we lose our sense of wonder. Our eyes don’t lift to the horizon; our ears don’t hear the sounds around us. The edge is off our experience, and we pass our days in a routine that is both comfortable and limiting. We wake up one day and find that we have lost our dreams in order to protect our days.” -Kent Nerburn

Meet Loma

Hi, I’m Paloma/Loma. A nomadic artist and California native, who left my job in 2019 to create art full-time, live a life led by curiosity, and embark on the adventure of a lifetime.

Now, I’d love to share my advice and stories, so that other women who have been tempted to try traveling alone, can begin to collect ideas for their own journeys.

Embracing the Unknown

Have you ever pictured what it would feel like to sell everything you own and hit the road? Or imagine the cloud of nerves that would follow as you step onto an international flight…alone? Raise your hand if you were told that talking to strangers while traveling alone was risky, and that most people shouldn’t be trusted.

Many of us have imagined endless possibilities involving all three scenarios. These are all things that I willingly put myself through years ago, and I can now look back and say that I am grateful I took a chance, ignored the fear, and followed my intuition. I would never be the confident, independent woman I am today, if I hadn’t traveled alone. I created this space to help guide and inspire other women that wish to set out on their own solo travels.

And now, story time…
